Brampton Caledon Community Living is committed to providing a fully barrier-free online experience. Our website features Accessibility Ally, an integrated tool that allows you to adjust and optimize accessibility settings based on your individual needs. This tool helps ensure our site remains compliant with AODA standards. 

To access Accessibility Ally, click the blue icon featuring the universal accessibility symbol located at the bottom right corner of any webpage. After activating the menu, please allow a moment for all accessibility options to fully load.  

Accessibility Ally’s features include but are not limited to: 

Seizure Safe 

Accessibility Ally offers options that reduce or eliminate flashing elements, animations, and high-contrast colour combinations that may trigger seizures. These settings create a calmer, more stable visual environment for users with photosensitive epilepsy. 

Vision Impaired 

For users with low vision, Accessibility Ally provides adjustable text sizes, increased contrast modes, enhanced readability tools, and options to highlight links and headings. These features make content easier to see and interpret. 

Cognitive Disability 

The tool includes features such as simplified text, improved spacing, clear focus indicators, and reduced visual clutter. These adjustments support users who benefit from more structured, easier-to-process content. 

ADHD Friendly 

Accessibility Ally allows users to minimize distractions by reducing motion, simplifying layouts, and enhancing focus cues. These changes help users maintain attention and more easily navigate the site. 

Blind Users 

The platform supports screen readers by improving semantic structure, labelling interactive elements correctly, and ensuring logical navigation order. Accessibility Ally enhances compatibility with assistive technologies that blind users rely on. 

Keyboard Navigation (Motor) 

For users with motor impairments, Accessibility Ally ensures that all website functions can be accessed via keyboard alone. Features include visible keyboard focus indicators, logical tab-order navigation, and elimination of mouse-dependent interactions. 

As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining and enhancing accessibility, we routinely scan bramptoncaledoncl.ca using UserWay’s Accessibility Scanner to identify and address any issues proactively.
